As the CEO of Borouge Plc, Hazeem Sultan Al Suwaidi is leading the company's production activities, boosting its growth projects and contributing to developing the UAE's petrochemicals industry.Al Suwaidi has also been CEO of Abu Dhabi Polymers Company Limited (Borouge ADP) since January 2020.Previously, Al Suwaidi was CEO of Ruwais Fertilizer Industries LLC (Fertil), where he played a pivotal role in growing the business regionally and internationally, successfully transforming it into a high-performing, market-facing and people-centered company. Prior to that, Al Suwaidi was Senior Vice President of Regional Sales MEA at Borouge Pte, where he successfully secured a strong market position for the company's products in the Middle East and Africa region, capitalizing on a period of high growth, during the Borouge 3 capacity ramp-up. He is also currently Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA). Al Suwaidi holds a Bachelor's degree with Honours in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing, from the California State University of San Bernardino, USA.

Founde_d in 1998 through a strategic partnership between ADNOC and Borealis, Borouge was formed to build and operate a petrochemical complex in Al Ruwais Industrial City_, United Arab Emirates, with a sales and marketing business in Singapore.

We operate one of the world's largest integrated polyolefin complexes in Al Ruwais Industrial City, UAE, and have a diverse regional footprint of logistics hubs, warehouses and gateways across the MENA region, Europe, and Asia, as well as a Compounding Manufacturing Plant ("CMP") in Shanghai.

Borouge started production in 2001 with 450,000 tonnes per year and in 2010 Borouge tripled its annual production capacity to 2 million tonnes. In 2015 Borouge increased its annual capacity to 4.5 million tonnes, increasing it to 5 million tonnes in 2022. The company is planning to achieve 6.4 million tonnes by 2025, a 14-fold increase in overall capacity since its first production.
