Dr. Akinluyi was born on the 1st day of September 1950, in Sabongida-Ora, Edo state, five minutes before his fraternal twin, both of them being the second set of twins born to their parents, the last of 9 children at that time.
In 1971 he gained admission into the University of Lagos and then went on to the College of Medicine in 1972 where he gained an MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery).
Joining the Nigerian Air Force as a medical officer, he rose up the ranks to become the Chief Medical Officer and Director/Coordinator of the Armed Forces Family Planning Scheme. He forged a path for himself in the area of Reproductive health and Family Planning, being the initiator and founder of the Nigerian Air Force Family Planning Programme. Throughout his years in the Air Force, he provided personal medical services to a variety of Air force and Army Chiefs of Staff, looking after their health and wellbeing. After 30 year of illustrious service, Dr, Akinluyi retired as Chief Medical Officer in the Air Force, attaining the highest level possible for a civilian Doctor.
Alongside his burgeoning medical career, he found that his entrepreneurial and business instincts simply could not be stifled, and embarked on several successful business ventures.
