Florian Brokamp is the CEO and co-founder of Thinksurance – a leading B2B insurtech for commercial insurances in Germany. After finalising his studies both in law and business administration two separate degrees in parallel Florian started his career as top management consultant at McKinsey. While spending his time on digital projects, he developed an enthusiasm about new technologies, which eventually led to co-founding Thinksurance.
As the CEO of a successful scale-up business, Florian is highly involved in many strategic business processes, including shaping the business model, for example, by developing new business lines. He invented the first versions of one of Thinksurance’s main products their Data Analytics Dashboards – on a napkin during a lunch break. Today, a large share of the company’s total revenue comes from exactly those Data Analytics products. This napkin, therefore, has not only changed the way insurers interact with the organisation and the market, but also the way they calculate their prices and do their market research for commercial insurances.
Florian’s favourite task as CEO, however, is building the Thinksurance team and maintaining the family-like company culture. “The Thinksurance Family is not only the heart and soul of our business success but also one of the main reasons I am excited to go to work every day,” he says.
In his private life, Florian is a passionate tennis player and cross-fitter. He loves being around people, listening to music and enjoying life with a smile; and as someone raised in a wine region – also with a glass of wine. Over the years, he has been active in several voluntary activities – from helping social entrepreneurs or giving scholarships for students to co-leading the board of a local tennis club. Florian recently began to pass on his knowledge by helping young founders build their business as a business angel.
