Dr. Payton holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Business Management, a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling, and a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Development, with a graduate certificate in Educational Leadership. In 2016, Dr. Payton earned her doctorate in Psychometrics from Morgan State University. Dr. Payton’s career experiences include teaching special education, being a program manager for state government, and counseling positions within the private sector. Dr. Payton is a Business Development Consultant and the Program Manager for the Reaching Independence through Self-employment (RISE) Program, sponsored by the Division of Rehabilitation Services. Through the years, Dr. Payton has learned to embrace her humble beginning while remaining determined to fulfill the greatness for which she is destined. She deems her life work as being able to inspire others to reach their highest levels of success to help them live their best life! Dr. Payton is co-founder of EXEMPLAR Community Services, Inc. EXEMPLAR is a grassroots agency aimed at connecting with adolescents in their current state to facilitate a successful transition throughout life by- EXcelling, EMpowering, PLanning, and ARriving. In doing so, EXEMPLAR hopes that individuals will fill an innate desire to obtain their highest levels of success in educational, financial, ethical, and wellness standards, thereby enjoying the desired quality of life.
