What services does MIB provide? MIB’s services are designed to benefit society and our reach has grown over the years as we’ve been asked to lead or provide essential support to insurance industry and government initiatives. These requests reflect stakeholder groups’ confidence in our impartiality and our status as a not-for-profit, trusted organisation. MIB is already charged with dealing with the causes and consequences of uninsured and ‘hit www.mib.org.uk Firm Profile MIB was first established in 1946 to compensate the victims of uninsured and untraced (hit and run) driving. Over the years we have seen our role in the insurance industry develop significantly and branch into new areas. Today we handle around 25,000 new claims every year, from innocent victims of uninsured and hit and run driving, but we also work to reduce the level of uninsured driving. We also work in close partnership with insurers, Police and DVLA, and through our hard work over the last 10 years we have seen uninsured driving reduce by approximately 50%. We support the insurance industry through managed services, developing and managing a variety of databases on its behalf, deploying experience and providing access to varied skills by working with other organisations.
