Upon assuming the CEO role at Elemica, I had three primary goals: • Expand our core network: Elemica was founded 20 years ago to significantly improve the efficiency and robustness of global supply chains. We developed a cloud-based technology platform where manufacturers connect with all their trading partners to digitize core processes and communication for the products they buy, sell, move, and comply with across their supply chains. Typically, when companies try to digitize their processes, they start with the low-hanging fruits – like big clients and their biggest suppliers. However, if the entire supply chain is considered, those represent only 5% of all business partners. That leaves a significant number of companies with whom a connection is required. We want to enable quick, easy, and efficient connectivity for these companies to join the network and share in the digitization process. Our goal is to reach all partners of their supply chains. • Increase the breadth of our supply chain portfolio: In order to support the market and client demands, expanding the breadth of the portfolio takes on three dimensions: Build, Buy, Partner. Elemica Research and Development continuously evaluates our solutions adding functionality to the network and its supply chain solutions to meet evolving business models and changing market dynamics across the whole Supply Chain continuum. We are testing, implementing, and integrating technologies like blockchain, machine learning, IoT, supply chain quality into the network. About Rich Katz Our next winner is Rich Katz – the CEO of Elemica. Having been with the company for over 16 years, he’s held various different roles - President, Chief Technology Officer, Senior Vice-President of Product Management and Vice-President of Research and Development. Prior to Elemica, Rich was the Director of Implementation Services for ATT’s Enterprise’s Ariba Practice (formerly USI) and has held Senior Manager positions in Arthur Andersen’s Advanced Technology and ERP practices.
